So you may ask what is this blog all about? First of all I want to make it clear that anything that I will be writing in this blog is just purely based on my own point of view. I do not have any facts YET to back up anything that will write here nor is this blog financed by any organizations. Everything that you will be reading here is just products of my day to day experiences and observations as I am discovering the Philippines with my new lenses.
I have been away from the Philippines for only 3 years but it feels like I have been away for eternitites. There are a lot of things that have changed or maybe I should say there are a lot of things that I can see now which were hidden from me before. It's like everything is new to me, no matter how ridiculous it sounds I feel like I am not from here anymore, everything looks, feels, smells and tastes strange. Before I left the country I told myself that I am not going to be like the other balikbayans (this is a term we use as Filipinos to refer to those who went out of the country but for some reason either temporary or permanent went back) who alienates (oh how good to hear me use that word again, it's been a long time, let me say it again ALIENATE) themselves from the culture because they had a taste of another. Before I ridicule (of course I do this just in my head) these kind of people, for me they are like hypocrites leeching on other people's culture. Little did I know that one day I will become like them. I hate to admit it but yes I did became one of them at one point but now I am trying to overcome it. I try to use this experience to redefine myself as a Filipina who is now obliged to embrace a new culture. With all these things running in my head I decided to start this blog, I won't lose anything and plus I get to put my ICS mind into practice.

This blog will contain (as the name suggest) anything under the HOT Philippines sun. From food, places to visit, news event and really anything that I think is worth writing considering the fact that I have other duties to fulfill. I am excited to start with this blog and I hope you can join me in this journey as I start rediscovering the Philippines.
